A billiard table should be something that lasts for a life time. That’s why it is very important to understand what makes a good quality table. We use only the best materials and offer great service and advice. Here are a few points to look for when purchasing a table:
*LEGS: The legs should be solid timber and must have adjustable feet for leveling.
*FRAME/RAILS: The frame must be made of solid timber (not MDF). The frame must be strong and solid. All our frames are nailed, screwed, glued, rebated and have solid cross-members. The rails are attached using 50mm hex bolts for uncompromising strength.
*SLATE: The base must be slate. This is the most important component in ensuring a good true and level playing surface. We only use Italian Slate, which is widely recognized as the best quality slate for billiard tables.
*CLOTH: The cloth is also very important. We only use directional English cloth which is available in over 20 different colours. English cloth is the best cloth on the market.
*CUSHION RUBBERS: The cushion rubbers should be fixed correctly and must give a quick bounce.
* FITTINGS: The fittings should be brass or chromed brass.
* FINISH: The finish of the table must be good. The manufacturer of the table should be able to custom make the table to suit YOUR requirements. Different colours of timber and cloth should not be a problem for a manufacturer to do. If it is, then there’s a good chance you are buying an imported table with inferior quality.
